He has conducted a wide range of ensembles in both sacred and concert settings, including church, community, chamber, and collegiate choruses. His leadership emphasizes precision, expressive depth, and a collaborative approach that empowers performers while maintaining a clear artistic vision.
Carey has served as Associate Conductor of the Manhattan School of Music Pan African concerts, Associate Director at the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Director of Music Ministries at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church: Bethel. He has also directed ensembles at Westminster Choir College and worked extensively with the Brooklyn Ecumenical Choir.
